Pennsylvania Governor, Senator Support Proposal to Let Doctors Run Hospital.

May 18--With a June 30 deadline looming for the closure of MCP Hospital, Sen. Arlen Specter and Gov. Rendell recommended yesterday that a group of doctors be allowed to take control and run it as a full-service hospital.
Appearing together in Philadelphia, Specter and Rendell lauded the MCP doctors' proposal as the best chance to serve the diverse East Falls neighborhood, where both men live.
"It's a terrific win for our community that this thing is going to be kept open," Rendell said.
The politicians' support triggered euphoria at Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital in East Falls where workers exchanged high fives and are counting the days...
