Billing Problems Plague Cell Phone Customers.

May 18--Oh, give Elizabeth Meyer a cell phone where the signals don't roam, where calls and technology can play -- in harmony.

Since last August, Meyer, a 19-year-old college student from Lake Elmo, was getting socked each month with erroneous roaming charges that raised her AT&T Wireless bill, she said.

"I was always in my (service) area and I would get a roaming charge even though the phone showed I was on AT&T (Wireless)," she said. "I don't mind mistakes, usually, because everyone makes mistakes. But for it to happen every single month and to have to call every single month -- I mean, I don't want a cell phone that I've got to call in...
