Business Improves for Some Factories in New York State, Survey Shows.

May 18--Business continued to surge for some New York manufacturers, extending a streak of improving conditions for the downtrodden factory sector, according to a Federal Reserve survey.
The survey indicated that shipments and delivery times climbed to record highs, while inventory levels remained about the same.
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Buffalo Branch polls the activity and attitudes of about 100 manufacturers across the state, mostly small and medium-size firms that typically employ about 100 people.
