RadioShack Negotiates with Former Canadian Subsidiary over Contract Dispute.

May 21--FORT WORTH, Texas -- RadioShack Inc. officials said Thursday that the company is in mediation with Canada-based InterTan, its former international subsidiary, to settle a contract dispute that led the pair to court last month.
Len Roberts, chief executive of the No. 3 U.S. consumer electronics chain, said RadioShack is trying to protect its brand in Canada and may eventually open its own stores there.
The dispute arose after InterTan, operator of 980 RadioShack-licensed stores, said it agreed to be acquired by rival Circuit City Stores Inc.
