May 24--Spring cleaning meant it was time to clear out all the CDs I haven't listened to in more than a decade and the DVDs I haven't watched since 1998.
So I hit the road to visit a half-dozen local stores that offer cash for trade-in discs. I learned a few lessons beyond the obvious fact that the music of '80s band Mr. Mister has not aged well.
Offers for my stash ranged from a low of 50 cents for one movie at Gamestop (which really specializes in video games, and was the only place I visited that doesn't accept CDs) to a high of $26 for most of the pile at CD Warehouse.
