Huffy Misses SEC Filing Deadline Again; Firm Could Face Civil Actions.

May 25--MIAMISBURG, Ohio -- The Securities and Exchange Commission could bring civil action against Huffy Corp., a sporting goods retailer, after delaying the release of its first-quarter earnings for the third time on Monday, the last day possible to remain in compliance with SEC guidelines.

On May 17, Huffy's directors filed a Form NT 10-Q, a request for a

five-day extension that ended Monday.

Huffy said Monday it will not release its first-quarter earnings to the SEC until June.

John Heine, spokesman for the SEC, said Huffy is now noncompliant with SEC rules.
