Waiting Lists Disappear in Some Las Vegas-Area Housing Communities.

May 28--While the housing market has helped drive the taxable sales numbers to record levels, some subtle changes are affecting the explosive Southern Nevada housing market, an official said Thursday.

Dennis Smith, president of Home Builders Research, said sales of new homes have not slowed, but weekly traffic counts at new subdivisions have declined over the last three to four weeks.

"In some communities, the (waiting) lists have disappeared, but there's still lists out there, absolutely," he said. "It's still happening in certain submarkets, not everywhere. Probably in the southwest valley first, then probably in parts of Summerlin."
