May 30--CAR REPAIRS PROMPT DISPUTE OVER INTERIOR DAMAGE: QUESTION: My car was damaged in an accident, and I took it to Kansas Coachworks in Overland Park for repairs. At the time, there was no damage to the interior dash/console. When I picked the car up (after repairs that took 40 days), the wood grain application to the center console was melted and curling, and a 6-inch piece was completely missing.
I asked my insurance company, Progressive, about repairing this damage. The agent told me the car did not have that damage at the time it was turned over to Kansas Coachworks, and he declined to help.
