Jun. 1--International Steel Group, a strong candidate to buy Georgetown Steel, could be positioned to survive the uncertain future of global steel output, industry experts say.
China is part of the uncertainty. The country whose steel production was once considered a threat to U.S. companies is growing so fast that its need for imported steel is helping the U.S. economy.
China is sprucing up to host the 2008 Olympic Games, driving part of the country's demand. It's also increasing its ability to produce steel.
