National Chains on New York Resort Town's Retail Strip Evokes Mixed Reactions.

Jun. 2--As two more national retail chains prepare to move into downtown Saratoga Springs, Broadway shop owners wonder whether the street is gaining customers or losing its charm.
Women's clothing stores Talbots and Ann Taylor Loft have announced they will occupy the first floor of the newest building under construction in Congress Park Centre, an office, retail and residential complex located near Congress Park. New York City-based Brause Realty Inc. is constructing the five-story, 110,000-square-foot building, which will be filled primarily by financial adviser The Ayco Co. as part of a project started in 1996 that will total about 200,000 square feet.
