Quiet Now, Savannah, Ga., Trade Center Will Be Media Central for G8 Summit.

Jun. 4--Turning the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center into a media hub for an estimated 2,400 journalists takes hundreds of computers, miles of cable and a dozen waffle irons.

Even hard-bitten reporters have to eat, you know. So Norcross-based Waffle House created a mini restaurant in the trade center, donating its food and time to the Summit.

"We'll probably operate from 6 a.m.-2 p.m.," said Pat Warner, of Waffle House. "We'll come back at night and see if anybody wants a late night waffle."

Warner expected to start serving journalists on Sunday. But by Thursday, the Waffle House was already prepared to cook in the second floor ballroom.
