Oil Industry Booming in Texas' Permian Basin; Experienced Workers Wanted.

Jun. 6--Two-and-a half years of stable-to-rising oil and gas prices have led to a run-up of exploration and well-redevelopment activity in the Permian Basin.
"The oilfield is booming right now," said Ed Miller, a longtime oilfield employee and tong mechanic for Key Energy, one of the largest well-service companies in the world.
Baker Hughes on Friday reported that of the 1,168 rotary rigs running in the United States, 494, or 42 percent, were located in the Lone Star State.
