Award in Civil Lawsuit of Mississippi Radio Personality Hits Snag.

Jun. 11--GULFPORT, Miss. -- Radio personality Rip Daniels can't yet collect the $647,000 he was awarded in a civil lawsuit against the Harrison County Development Commission.
The Mississippi Supreme Court on Thursday ruled the case, which began in Harrison County Chancery Court, wasn't properly transferred to Harrison County Circuit Court, so its ruling wasn't valid. The Circuit Court issued the award ruling in the case.
The case began in September 1995 when Daniels, president of Daniels Real Estate and WJZD Inc., purchased land in the Bernard Bayou Industrial District, an area maintained by the Development Commission. The contract included a buyback...
