Two Dallas Skyscrapers Offer Backdrop for Bank Merger.

Jun. 12--Presumably, they can only have one: The 55-story J.P. Morgan Chase Tower or the 60-story Bank One Center.

Chase and Bank One are two of the biggest tenants in downtown Dallas, each occupying stylish, Class A properties stamped with their corporate identity.

Their merger is more than likely going to force one set of banking executives to move the eight blocks to the other's building.

The two companies have said they are committed to staying downtown, which over the last couple of years has seen office rents falling and vacancies inching higher. But they have given little inkling of which building they prefer.
