GlaxoSmithKline's Anxiety Grows over Controversial Drug.

Jun. 15--Drugs giant GlaxoSmithKline shares slid 20 pence to 1130 pence on fears of more bad news over suicide risks linked to its controversial antidepressant Seroxat.

British medical authorities are expected to warn that Seroxat's drug family, called SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), can make adults suicidal.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency is expected to restrict the use of some of them after a yearlong investigation.

Children are already banned from taking all but one of the SSRIs on fears they can cause suicidal tendencies. US law enforcer Eliot Spitzer launched his own probe into Seroxat this month....
