Hampton, Va., Company Aims to Become 'Incubator' of Other High-Tech Firms.

Jun. 21--Since Nascent Technology Solutions was acquired a year ago by Luna Innovations, the Hampton company has added employees, quadrupled its revenues and moved into a new site with much more space than it had in the Hampton Roads Technology Incubator.
Now called Luna Hampton Roads, the company is benefiting from becoming part of Blacksburg-based Luna. Both firms had similar business models: use government or university grants and industry financing to do cutting-edge research. Then create products that form the basis of a new Luna company or are sold to an existing corporation.
