Real Estate Firm Buys Biggest Residential Rental Brokerage in New York City.

Jun. 23--In one of the larger acquisitions in the metropolitan area this year, The Corcoran Group, the giant Manhattan-based real estate firm, yesterday said it has bought the biggest residential rental brokerage in New York City, in an effort to expand into the growing rental market.
Terms of the deal were not announced.
Corcoran, which has been in an expansion mode in the last several years -- it has acquired several real estate firms on Long Island's East End -- said it had acquired Citi Habitats Inc., also based in Manhattan, and its loft and home sales unit, SoLofts.
