University students in Beaumont, Texas, accuse businesses of unfair treatment.

Jun. 24--BEAUMONT, Texas -- Lamar University students who say they have been unfairly treated at Crockett Street establishments aired concerns before City Council at mid-afternoon Tuesday.

Lenny Caballero, Crockett Street executive director, said later Tuesday that he was blindsided by the complaints.

The entertainment district strives to attract a racially diverse crowd and treat every customer fairly, Caballero said.

E.R. Hamilton, a Lamar junior, and Denzel Wilson, a Lamar sophomore, said they were thrown out of Salsa Night at Antone's last month and banned from the district permanently after being accused of underage drinking.
