Wachovia economists forecast job growth for Triad area of North Carolina.

Jun. 24--Economists for Wachovia Corp. said Wednesday that the Triad will see a net gain of 8,000 jobs by the end of this year, and another 14,000 net new jobs in 2005.
"We believe the second half of this year will be much, much better," said Senior Economist Mark Vitner.
Vitner said that, while the Triad continues to lag behind the nation, reports of corporate profits and business expansion are up. In addition, local growth has been heartened by recent announcements such as Unilin Flooring's $80 million factory being built in Thomasville and Citicorp's plans to bring 1,000 new jobs to Guilford County.
