Utility Aquila attracts Missouri regulators' notice.

Jun. 26--KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Missouri regulators are stepping up their review of Aquila Inc. after a court decision raised questions about the company's ability to deliver natural gas to customers this winter.

Steve Gaw, chairman of the Missouri Public Service Commission, said it was too early to determine how serious Kansas City-based Aquila's situation is after a judge ordered a preliminary injunction preventing Aquila from using $504 million in proceeds from the sale of its Canadian utilities.
