Boone County, Mo., hospital becomes an option for Mercy Health policyholders.

Jun. 29--Boone Hospital Center has signed on with Mercy Health Plans, the second-largest HMO in the state, expanding options for Mercy policyholders in Mid-Missouri after years of an exclusive contract with the University of Missouri.
BJC HealthCare, the parent organization of Boone Hospital Center, announced yesterday that Mercy will extend coverage to all of its 13 hospitals, effective Oct. 1. The move gives Boone Hospital access to more than 23,000 plan members in eastern and Central Missouri, said Bill Bennett, senior vice president of marketing and communications for Mercy.
