Lockheed, Central Florida Firm Win Military Training-Simulator Deals.

Jun. 30--Two companies with Central Florida operations won Pentagon contracts this week to build training simulators for the soldiers who drive the embattled roadways of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lockheed Martin's Simulation, Training & Support division in Orlando and Raydon Corp. in Daytona Beach each will produce trainers on a tight schedule as the Pentagon scrambles to cope with insurgent attacks on troops in transit. Together, the contracts are worth more than $15 million.

Each company will deliver eight trainers. Lockheed's are large units that surround soldiers with video screens that replicate attacks. Raydon's are helmet simulators that can be sent...
