New J.D. Power survey ranks Toyota cars as most dependable.

Jun. 30--WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- Toyota Motor Sales USA ranks highest in terms of dependability, with the manufacturer's Corolla and MR2 Spyder outpacing competitors in their segments, according to a J.D. Power and Associates survey released Tuesday.
The Corolla recorded 30 fewer problems per 100 vehicles this year, compared with 2003. The sporty MR2 Spyder posted 20 fewer problems.
Japanese automakers maintained their edge in almost every class, with superior engine performance a key factor in improving overall reliability.
