Jun. 27--The half-time whistle is approaching, but despite much huffing and puffing up and down the field, London's blue-chip share index has little to show for its efforts.
Wednesday marks the halfway point in the year and a glance at the scoreboard shows the Footsie is likely to end the first half almost exactly where it started.
Having risen briefly as high as 4,575 and dropping to a low of 4,309 in the past six months, the FTSE closed Friday at 4,494, just 17 points higher than on January 1.
Within the FTSE 100, there is, of course, a wide range of performances from different companies, proving that, more than ever, the trick to winning...
