Jul. 7--CAPTIVATE NETWORK PLANS EXPANSION: Captivate Network Inc., a Westford company that operates news and advertising television screens inside 4,500 office-tower elevators in Boston and other US cities, said it will expand into another eight metropolitan markets this year. Captivate, which was purchased by media conglomerate Gannett Co. in April, said it is adding coverage in Hartford, Denver, Minneapolis, Memphis, Philadelphia, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and Columbia, S.C., as part of a project to deploy 4,000 more elevator screens by the end of 2005. Captivate estimates its screens are seen by 1.5 million people a day.
