Summit County, Colo., leaders reject proposal to expand ski village.

Jul. 14--Summit County leaders have rejected a proposal to almost double the size of Copper Mountain's slopeside village.
On Monday, the Summit County Board of Commissioners killed a proposal by Intrawest Corp., the Canadian parent of Copper Mountain ski area, to add 1,155 residential units and more than 150,000 square feet of commercial space to the ski area base.
"This thing has gone on for too long," said Commissioner Tom Long, who expressed frustration at Intrawest's delayed responses to the board's written concerns about density, parking and the size of proposed buildings in the village.
