Expansion plan of Thai agribusiness system includes motorcycles, stores.

Jul. 17--The Charoen Pokphand Group, Thailand's largest agribusiness concern, is looking to expand its investment in China in two areas -- Lotus Supercenter and motorcycles -- after establishing a solid foothold in the Chinese animal feed market for more than two decades.

"I believe the Chinese economy will grow at least 7 percent this year after expanding 9 percent in the first half of this year, despite efforts by the government to put the brakes on particularly by cutting financial support to state enterprises," said Thanakorn Seriburi, the CP Group vice-chairman who oversees operations in China.
