Dissident group says it has votes to oust president of Waco, Texas, university.

Jul. 20--A group seeking the ouster of Baylor University President Robert Sloan predicted Monday that it will happen this week, when the Board of Regents meets in Waco.

"We're now convinced that the votes are there, and this is the first time we've been convinced," said Bill Carden, president of the group calling itself the Committee to Restore Integrity to Baylor.

The group released a statement that said Dr. Sloan's "high-handed methods of dealing with those who do not wholeheartedly support his views have bitterly divided faculty, students and alumni."
