Knox County, Tenn., board rejects developers' farmers' market plans.

Jul. 21--Sparks flew Tuesday after the Knox County Industrial Development Board rejected Farmers' Market redevelopment plans from two Knoxville companies and opted to have The Development Corp. of Knox County negotiate directly with Target, Kroger and other major retailers.
Graham Corp. and Holrob Investments LLC were the only developers who had submitted proposals for redevelopment of the 74-acre site on Washington Pike just off Interstate 640.
But the board also authorized Development Corp. CEO Mike Edwards to negotiate a new plan with Holrob for redevelopment of Farmers' Market property that is not sold to a major retailer.
