Southwest Gas Corp. to buy California company.

Jul. 22--Southwest Gas Corp. has agreed to acquire natural gas distribution properties of Avista Corp. in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., for $15 million, subject to closing adjustments, company officials said Wednesday.
The agreement is also subject to regulatory review, including approval by the California Public Utilities Commission.
Avista's properties will be integrated into the Northern Nevada operations for Southwest Gas, adding about 18,000 customers, said Roger Buehrer, spokesman for Southwest Gas.
Southwest Gas currently serves 105,000 homes and businesses out of its Carson City office, including about 30,000 in the Lake Tahoe Basin and Truckee,...
