Jul. 23--Venture Financial Group, parent of Venture Bank, announced second-quarter earnings Thursday of 28 cents per share, equal to the earnings of the same quarter in 2003.
Net income was down, but deposits, credit quality and the bank's loan portfolio grew.
During the quarter, Venture opened its first South King County branch, in Kent, and sold seven branches located away from the Interstate 5 corridor.
In May, Venture announced it would move its headquarters from Lacey to DuPont.
