Monroe, Fla. ISP says level of spam e-mail is on rise.

Jul. 24--It clogs mailboxes, offers everything from hot stock tips to hot, well, other things -- and it drives people crazy.

Spam -- the 21st Century version of junk mail -- has some people longing for the good old days when they could just toss unwanted envelopes into the trash can.

Despite the efforts of canned-meat manufacturer Hormel, use of the name "spam" and the amount of it being generated have both escalated to astronomical proportions.
