US Airways is lukewarm to new cost-savings plan from pilots.

Aug. 5--US Airways pilots, more than two months into a set of do-or-die concessionary talks, sent management a new cost-cutting proposal this week that union leaders say will make the airline as productive as its low-cost rivals. The company appeared dubious.
"We still have a lot of work to do with [pilots] and the rest of our labor groups to get our plan completed, and we are working very hard to get it done in time," said company spokesman David Castelveter.
The pilots also said they want something in return, suggesting profit sharing but leaving it to the airline to determine how much. The company's reaction "will determine where we go from here,"...
