Aug. 5--Like the temperatures forecast for this coming weekend, prices of homes in Pierce County continue to sizzle and climb. In July, the median price of a Pierce County residence reached a breath away from $200,000 -- at $199,900, or nearly $20,000 ahead of the median price of $179,950 in July a year ago.
The median housing price is the midpoint, not the average price, and includes sales of both residential and condominium homes. The July numbers, offered in a report by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service, confirm for one Realtor that the South Sound market remains sturdy and angled toward the seller.
