St. Louis-based Laclede Gas reaches agreement with unions.

Aug. 11--Laclede Gas Co. has a reached a tentative agreement with two local unions on a four-year contract involving more than 1,300 workers. The company and union representatives announced the deal Tuesday, but provided no details.

A contract vote is expected at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Carpenters' District Council headquarters in St. Louis. A second vote for Sunday day-shift crews is expected to be held later that day.

The contract for Paper, Allied-Industrial, Chemical and Energy Workers International Locals 5-6 and 5-194 expired at 11:59 p.m. July 31. The next day, members voted against a proposed four-year contract by more than a 2-1 margin.
