Google warns investors about Playboy article on 'quiet period'.

Aug. 13--Google warned this morning that a just published article in Playboy magazine may have violated federal securities regulations concerning the 'quiet period," which limits what companies can say as they prepare to go public.
The warning was included in an amendment to Google's IPO prospectus, filed with federal regulators Friday morning. It was filed just as the Mountain View Internet search company prepared to begin taking bids from investors who want to participate in its auction of shares.
The Playboy article, which hits some subscribers' mailboxes this week, has been added to Google's prospectus as a risk factor.
