Aug. 10--Gadzooks Inc., the Carrollton-based teen clothing chain, dismissed auditor PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP in favor of a smaller firm, according to a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The dismissal comes about three months after PriceWaterhouse issued an opinion doubting the ability of Gadzooks to continue in business.
However, chief financial officer Jim Motley said Monday that changing auditors was unrelated to PriceWaterhouse's "going concern" opinion.
"There is absolutely no correlation between the two events," Mr. Motley said. "There was no disagreement and no hard feelings at all with PWC."
