Aug. 16--Alan Greenspan and company have about five weeks of data ahead of them to determine if their confidence in the economy is well-grounded.
Last week, Mr. Greenspan's Federal Reserve cheered the stock market with its opinion that the economy is still gaining steam and interest rates can continue to rise.
Experts say the data had better start communicating that same message well before the next Fed meeting on Sept. 21, if the optimism is to be maintained.
