Aug. 15--BUYOUT KING PUTS RANCH UP FOR AUCTION: What do the rich do when they can't sell their Colorado ranches fast enough?
They put them up for auction.
At least, that's how New York leveraged-buyout artist Henry Kravis -- an oft-mentioned potential buyer of Vail Resorts Inc. -- is peddling his luxurious Seven Lakes Ranch on the Western Slope east of Meeker.
Kravis contracted recently with the Gadsden, Ala.-based National Auction Group to handle the auction of Seven Lakes, which last was listed with Vail's Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate for $18.5 million. The sale is set for Sept. 23.
