Aug. 18--Aetna is likely to ship more information technology work overseas, a move that could mean as many as 300 job cuts -- or maybe substantially fewer -- the company says.
The Hartford-based health insurer is planning an expansion of its offshore outsourcing, but the numbers haven't been pinned down, company spokesman Fred Laberge said Wednesday.
The job cuts would take place over time and include an undetermined number of Connecticut workers. Companywide, the cuts would not top 10 percent of the 3,134 employees in IT as of June, Laberge said. About half of the 3,134 workers are in Middletown and Hartford, and most of the rest are in Blue Bell, Pa....
