Miami-based medical supplies distributor donates $1 million to university.

Aug. 19--In a gift that mirrors their dedication to education, love of sports and devotion to South Florida, Jorge and Carlos de Cespedes -- owners of the Miami-based Pharmed Group -- will give $1 million to Florida International University's Athletic Department.
FIU's Golden Panther Arena will be renamed Pharmed Arena as a result of the donation, the largest in the Athletic Department's history.
"There couldn't be a better legacy that I would want for our company," said Jorge de Cespedes, 51, president of the Pharmed Group, the largest independent distributor of medical, surgical and rehabilitative supplies in the United States. "We felt this is where we wanted...
