US Airways poised to file for bankruptcy protection a second time.

Aug. 20--US Airways, which flew 203,000 people in and out of Myrtle Beach in 2003, is poised to file for bankruptcy a second time after emerging from its first Chapter 11 filing last year.

The airline is the No. 1 carrier in Myrtle Beach.

Stephen Greene, director of communications for the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, said the potential loss of service could be devastating to tourism on the Grand Strand.

"We've been spending so much time trying to get additional airlines to come into the market," Greene said.
