Aug. 28--Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, using MTV's Video Music Awards as a backdrop, launched H-P's model of Apple Computer's popular iPod portable music player during a presentation in Miami Beach on Friday.
Fiorina also showed off new H-P products including portable printers, digital cameras, flat screens, printer ink and a digital entertainment center.
The announcement marks a push by the company, once known primarily for its printers, into the consumer electronics business. "We see this year's holiday season as a big digital entertainment Christmas," Fiorina said from a spotlighted stage she shared with the products.
