Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. offers customers fixed-price option.

Sep. 1--Bracing for the possibility of another winter of skyrocketing natural-gas prices, Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. this week extended its Voluntary Fixed-Price Plan for the third year.

ONG customers who choose to participate in the program will pay $7.15 per dekatherm for 12 months beginning Nov. 1 regardless of market price changes.

"We can't control the price of gas. The market does that," ONG spokesman Don Sherry said. "But we can offer as many options as possible in how our customers pay for their gas."

Sherry said the program is designed as a budgeting tool but not necessarily as a money saver.
