USA Capital First Trust Deed Fund official to appeal $889,000 judgment.

Sep. 1--A key official at said he intends to appeal an $889,000 summary judgment that the Securities and Exchange Commission obtained from a federal court in New York.

A federal court in New York issued a permanent injunction in July against Thomas Hantges, co-manager of the fund, that prohibits him from violating the Securities Act and requires him and others to repay $889,000 in proceeds. USA Capital First disclosed the federal court decision in a filing with the SEC on Aug. 20.

Hantges on Wednesday confirmed that he intends to appeal the decision, but said it stems from a company unrelated to his mortgage brokerage. Hantges' company manages $175...
