Siam City Bank seeks to offer leasing as part of 'universal bank' drive.

Sep. 4--Siam City Bank plans to enter the leasing business to help supplement its services as a universal bank.
Angkana Swasdipoon, a bank executive vice-president, said SCIB was considering either acquiring an existing leasing company or establishing a new subsidiary to offer the services.
"Acquisition might be an easier way to enter into the business. But with interest rates rising, buying now isn't really the right time. Better to wait until rates increase and the bank has a chance to pay a lower price," she said.
