Investment banker, mother of 6 joins board at U.K. grocery chain Tesco.

Sep. 9--Mother-of-six Karen Cook cemented her City superwoman status by joining the board of Tesco.
The deal-making managing director of investment bank Goldman Sachs becomes the second female non-executive at the supermarket after French businesswoman Veronique Morali.
Chairman David Reid described the 50-year-old Cook as a "highly respected investment banker" who "brings with her considerable knowledge of the global financial markets."
Cook was on the board of Dixons for six years, during which time Goldman advised the electrical retailer on its options for internet provider Freeserve.
