EDS to lay off up to 20,000 workers over 2 years.

Sep. 10--Electronic Data Systems could shed 15,000 to 20,000 employees -- about 13 to 17 percent of its workforce -- in the next 2 1/2 years, chief executive Michael H. Jordan said Thursday.
The computer services giant, based in Plano, is still evaluating which jobs to cut and didn't offer specifics on which employees might be affected. The company has more than 120,000 workers, including about 7,700 in the Dallas area.
EDS probably will continue its pattern of cutting its U.S. headcount while it spreads out to other parts of the globe, spokesman Jeff Baum said. Mr. Jordan's estimate is rough and could change as the company's cost-cutting plan evolves, he...
