Sep. 14--Hartford Office Supply Inc., a 54-year-old business with locations in three states, is discussing a possible sale to Staples, the nation's largest office-supply chain. Details were not available Monday.
Robert Kilpatrick, who owns the Hartford company with his brother, Richard, referred inquiries to Staples.
Staples spokesman Owen Davis said the company "does not comment or speculate about discussions that may or may not be in development."
Hartford Office Supply, based on Capitol Avenue a block west of the Legislative Office Building, has about 25 employees in Hartford and about 75 more on its sales staff and at offices in Johnston, R.I., and Littleton,...
