Sep. 14--Katy Torney came to the first public meeting for the FedEx Corp. cargo hub project noise study Monday night hoping to hear something to dissuade her skepticism.
She left as discouraged, if not more, than before she arrived. "I think the ball's been set in motion, and there's nothing individuals can do," Torney said outside the auditorium at Northwest Guilford High School, where more than 50 people came for the 90-minute meeting. "What I heard tonight didn't make me feel better."
